Nara

soloist and instructor of Kirmizie

Although fairly new to bellydance, Nara is not new to dance.

An avid dancer since the age of 4, Nara Began with ballet and continued with it until age 12; at age 10 she picked up Irish dance or “Riverdance.” She studied Irish dance for 12 years bringing her to advance quickly in Irish dance competitions as well as being chosen to dance for Eileen Ivers, world-famous Irish violinist of the Chieftans. During that time, Nara also taught Irish dance for 7 years.

While Nara thoroughly enjoyed Irish dance, it became very taxing on the body, so she began looking for a danceform to take its place. Admiring bellydance from afar for many years, she finally jumped in and gave it a try in 2007 when she became a member of Red Moon Tribe in Springfield, MO. Nara now enjoys studying bellydance because it is much easier on the body as well as it can be performed throughout one’s lifetime.

As part of Red Moon Tribe, Nara has studied under Zivah Serpentina in the Tribal and Tribal Fusion bellydance methods. Since, Nara has also begun teaching bellydance through Red Moon Tribe’s student troupe Kirmizie and has also participated in the theming of some of Red Moon Tribe’s theatrical shows.

Nara’s style is serious, yet also includes a playful element. She has a deep understanding of dance and the various elements that make up a dramatic dance performance.

Nara says, “I don't believe that I would be a happy person without dance of some sort in my life. ”
