Aracenia
soloist and founder of Aracenia Designs

Arasenia first found bellydance when she was 8 years old during a summer vacation trip to San Miguel de Allende. During the two month stay, her mother enrolled at Bellas Artes to take 'Oriental Dance.' After about a week of watching the class from the sidelines, Arasenia was invited by the instructor to join the class–one long class and a terrifying 2-minute improvisation later, she was hooked! She attended every class she could before the vacation was over.

Twelve years later, while attending college in Springfield, MO, she decided to pick up the dance once again with the troupe Beledi Bellydance. This time, bellydance was here to stay.

Currently, she is a soloist as well as a member of Recherche' Bellydance Company and Springfield Bellydance Academy. Her performance styles range in diversity from American Cabaret and Greek Restaurant to Tribal Fusion and Gothic Fusion. Her technique is based on the Suhaila Salimpour format with other inspirations from jazz, ballet, modern dance, and even martial arts. Although specializing in sword fusion performances, in any form, she captivates her audience with a soft, yet intense stage presence.
