ABOUT BDU: Belly Dance United produces innovative U.S.-style bellydance shows breaking away from what is considered "traditional" bellydance by incorporating comedy, acting, modern dance and other ancient dance traditions.

Although innovation is key to the success of Belly Dance United, we always maintain a deep respect for the roots of bellydance or raks sharki and its ancient lineage. With that in mind, each performer is expected to have a complex understanding of its technique and historical background.

DANCE WORKSHOPS/CLASSES:
We can bring a 1-hour dance workshop to your location with our theatrical show so that you can experience the joy of learning this artform. This workshop can be beginning level or advanced per your needs. It is part of the complete price. Email us at bdu@bellydanceunited.com for pricing.

Through our dance workshops the participants generally gain a greater understanding of why bellydance is beneficial on many levels and where this ancient dance originates from. As one of the oldest dances, dating back more than 5000 years ago, bellydance has a long and interesting history that we love sharing with you. Some participants of our workshops even go on to pursue bellydance as a lifelong hobby and/or form of exercise.

THEATRICAL SHOWS: We bring you the creative side of this dance through presenting a theatrical bellydance show. You can have three dancers in the show or up to 6 dancers per your budget and needs. Three dancers will provide you with a one-hour workshop/class and a 30-minute, mini-compilation show (taking various pieces from our shows, but without a theme); and 6 dancers will provide you with a one-hour dance workshop/class and a one-hour themed show from our 11 complete shows. You get to choose the show. The one-hour show will give you the advantage of seeing more styles of bellydance performance.

When you bring 5-6 dancers, you get to choose from our 11 different themed shows the show that best suits your audience. We are able to get any full-length themed show ready for you with three months of booking notice. Please email: bdu@bellydanceunited.com for pricing info.

Belly Dance United's Mission Statement: Belly Dance United seeks to increase awareness and appreciation of bellydance in the world at large by teaching workshops and presenting innovative theatrical shows while also promoting and encouraging the talent within the bellydance community.
