Welcome to Belly Dance United! BDU was formed in the 2003. As the mission below states, Belly Dance United shares the art of bellydance with the Mid-Missouri community by providing forums for performers. We seek to provide a variety of venues where audiences can enjoy this feminine, ancient and beautiful artform along with musical styles that embody or compliment the dance.
BDU consists of soloists, troupes and musicians throughout Missouri who perform in the shows exhibiting a wide-variety of bellydance styles including Gypsy, Egyptian Cabaret, Tribal Fusion, American Restaurant and a variety of fusion styles.
Most performers reside
in the Missouri area and have been studying dancing and/or music for many
years. Although, beginners who have some training with an instructor are welcome to perform in two shows a year, the other shows are open to experienced performers only and are subject to a selection process via live performance or video clip.
